UN Road Safety Lab

UN Road Safety Lab

The UN Road Safety Lab is an online content hub and action-oriented platform available to the public to improve access to and use of road safety knowledge.

The Lab brings together knowledge resources from 27 UNRSF partners including organizations from the UN System, multilateral organizations, civil society, academia and the private sector providing a unique gateway and wealth of learning products and services to advance road safety globally.

The Lab includes 5 components:

  • Knowledge Products: Tools and practical resources
  • Platforms of Engagement: How to connect with experts on a range of road safety topics
  • Learning: Training and learning opportunities
  • AI-Enabled Knowledge Solutions: Knowledge Conversational Assistant and AI Agent to discover, understand and apply the Lab’s knowledge base
  • Where We Work: Explore countries’ road safety profiles, projects and contacts

The Lab is built on two complimentary approaches that facilitate learning and supports the translation of evidence into practical outputs. The Conversational Knowledge Assistant (CKA) helps users search, understand, and learn from the Lab’s online resources, and the AI Agent focuses on structured tasks.

The Lab aims to create a pathway from knowledge discovery to knowledge use with benefits across different stakeholders:

  • For government officials: Practical support for policy adaptation, brief preparation, and intervention planning.
  • For the public: Easier access to understandable road safety information.
  • For practitioners and researchers: Faster exploration of Lab resources and concepts.
  • For the Lab partners: Stronger knowledge translation and better analytics on user needs.
